What the required items actually store

Functionality storage keeps one small value in your browser recording whether you have answered the cookie banner, so the banner does not reappear on every page. Security storage helps the contact form turn away automated submissions. Neither contains your name, the name of your business or anything you type into the form, and neither can be read by another website.

Analytics and advertising storage, if you allow it

With analytics storage switched on we can see which pages are read and roughly for how long — for example, whether readers who open the Quarterly Figures Review page go on to look at the fees. We look at these totals a few times a year to decide which explanations need rewriting.

Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation would only be used to measure whether an advertisement brought someone to the site. We do not build profiles of individual visitors, and we never combine this data with anything you send us through the contact form.

Why the list is short

A pricing advisory practice has little reason to follow people around the internet. Most people who write to us are owners or finance leads who have already decided to look at their margins; what helps them is a clear page, not a retargeting campaign. That is why the optional items stay off until you switch them on.

How long a choice is remembered

Your answer to the banner is kept for twelve months. After that the banner appears once more, because providers and settings change and we would rather ask again than assume. Clearing your browser storage resets the choice at once.

What we would never do with this data

We will not use analytics or advertising data to guess which company a visitor belongs to, to contact a business that has not written to us, or to adjust the fees shown on our pages. The Margin Structure Review, the Price Position Discussion and the Quarterly Figures Review are priced the same for every reader, whatever the cookie settings.

Changes to this page

If we ever add something to the site that needs a new kind of storage — an online booking calendar for quarterly sessions, for instance — this page will describe it before it goes live, and the banner will ask you again instead of relying on an earlier answer.
